The Plaza Tire Capahas ended their home schedule with a bang Sunday, shutting out the St. Louis Raging Bulls 5-0.
That completed a resounding three-game series sweep of the Bulls by a combined score of 26-1. The Capahas outscored the Bulls 42-2 in five meetings this season.
The Capahas improved to 19-3 as they have posted eight straight victories.
"It was a good weekend for us," Capahas manager Jess Bolen said. "We got our pitching lined up, got guys some work."
Brad LaBruyere and Dustin Hunter combined for a two-hitter Sunday.
LaBruyere went the first five innings for the win, allowing one hit and one walk. He struck out four.
Hunter notched a save with four one-hit innings. He struck out six and walked none.
Kody Campbell led the Capahas' 11-hit attack by going 4 for 4. He doubled and drove in two runs.
Kenton Parmley tripled and doubled, good for two RBIs. Jordan Kimball added two hits, including a double.
The Capahas broke a scoreless tie with three fifth-inning runs. They got their final two runs in the eighth inning.
The Capahas return to action Tuesday at Fairview Heights, Ill., in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
