The Capahas moved to 10-1 with a Saturday doubleheader sweep of visiting Crestwood (Ill.) at Capaha Park.

The hosts won the opener 1-0 before taking the nightcap 5-2.

The Capahas got all they needed in Game 1 when Drew Morecraft walked in the third inning before eventually scoring on a one-out single to center field by Alex Heuring.

That was enough for winning pitcher Tyler Thompson, who threw all seven innings, striking out nine, walking two and hitting two batters.

Heuring went 2-for-2 in the victory.

The second game featured more drama, as the Capahas needed a three-run sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie.

Morecraft led off the inning with a home run before Tyler Qualls doubled and scored on a Heuring base hit. Kyle James added to the advantage with a two-run double.

After the Panthers had jumped out to a 2-0 ead in the top of the fourth, the hosts responded immediately to draw even in the bottom half. Heuring tripled and scored when the defense overthrew the bag, and James scored Josh Haggerty with a sacrifice fly.

Qualls was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and Heuring was 2-for-3 with a triple.

Former Southeast Missouri State pitcher Brady Wright earned the win on the mound, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out eight.
