FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. -- The McDowell Capahas avenged a weekend loss to Fairview Heights with a 15-1, seven-inning victory Wednesday night.

Steve Kress was the offensive hero for McDowell (19-6) with two three-run homers. Kress also added a double and finished with six RBIs.

Cory Crosnoe, Jeff Bourbon and Tom Bolen also homered for the Capahas. Bolen's shot was the Capahas' third three-run blast of the game and enacted the 12-run mercy rule. Crosnoe's homer was a two-run shot.

Brent Self (4-0) was the beneficiary of McDowell's longball attack. He struck out four, walked one and gave up two hits in five innings. Lanson Debrock and Chad Bogenpohl each pitched an inning of relief.

Fairview Heights had defeated the Capahas 3-2 Saturday in the Valmeyer Tournament.
