But the Notre Dame boys basketball team emerged with an 82-72 double-overtime victory against Rockwood Summit in the third-place game of the Farmington Invitational on Saturday.
Jacob Tolbert poured in 22 points and Austin Greer added 21 as the Bulldogs improved to 2-1.

GIRLS BASKETBALL Northwest tournament Kirkwood 55, Central 54, OT
Wendi Zickfield reached 1,000 points in her career, but it came in a losing effort for the Central Tigers.
Central fell to Kirkwood 55-54 in overtime in the championship game at Cedar Hill Northwest.
Kirkwood outscored the Tigers 2-1 in the overtime session.
Zickfield finished with 28 points, while Sadie Pittman added 11 as Central dropped to 2-1.

Jane Morrill poured in 22 for the Bulldogs (2-1). Alex Fowler chipped in 12 points, while Allyson Bradshaw added 10.
Landon Wachter and Kaylen Knepp each scored 10 points in a losing effort for the Indians (1-2).

Jackson's Justin Darnell (215) and Blake Peiffer (heavyweight) won their weight classes at the 12-team meet.
"This was big for both of them," Jackson coach Steve Wachter said. "Both had a great meet."
The Indians finished third with 318 points. Seckman was first with 327.5, while Lafayette was second with 318.5
Clay Rouse was second at 119, while Levi Rayburn (103), Ryan Marble (171) and Michael Riney (189) brought home thirds.
Fourth-place finishers for Jackson were Jordan Reisenbichler (112), Josh Scott (125), Doug Froemsdorf (130), Levi Hobeck (140) and Cody Morgan (152), while Chris Hurst (135) and Blake Hooe (145) both finished fifth.
