PERRYVILLE -- After Wednesday's offensive explosion, Notre Dame's baseball team figures to at least have its hitting ready for its key district game against Scott City today.
Notre Dame pounded 17 hits -- some aided by the day's ferocious wind -- and beat Perryville on the road 15-13.
The Bulldogs (10-3) play the Rams today at Scott City in a game that will in all likelihood determine the top seed in the upcoming Class 2A district tournament.
Keith Hamm went all seven innings and earned the win Wednesday. He allowed nine hits, struck out eight and walked five.
Offensively, freshman Josh Eftink led the way with three hits, including a triple and a home run, four runs scored and five RBIs.
Also for the Bulldogs, Chris Canfield had three hits and three runs, Danny Wittenborn four hits and four runs, Nathan McGuire two hits, four RBIs and a homer and Trent Summers three hits.
