BRIEFS: YOUTH PIZZA PACE RACE IN JACKSON OCT. 14

The Jackson Parks and Recreation Department will hold its annual Youth Pizza Pace Race Oct. 14 in the parking lot of the swimming pool at Jackson City Park.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. The event is open to boys and girls ages 4-13. Race sponsors are Pizza Pro, Super Video and Southeast Missouri Hospital/Main Street Fitness.

Race distances are one-quarter mile, one-half mile and one mile. There will be five age divisions. Ages 4-5 and 6-7 run one-quarter mile; 8-9 and 10-11 run one-half mile; and 12-13 runs one mile.

The entry fee is $1. Each participant receives a goody bag that includes various coupons from Pizza Pro and Super Video and items from Southeast Missouri Hospital/Main Street Fitness. Pizza Pace Race certificates will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
