BRIEFLY: SOUTHEAST VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN SCANNELL HONORED BY OVC

Southeast Missouri State University setter Emily Scannell has been named the co-freshmen volleyball player of the week by the Ohio Valley Conference.

Scannell handed out 79 assists and served six aces during Otahkian victories over Southern Illinois and Tennessee Tech last week.

The Otahkians are off to a 5-0 OVC start as they shoot for their eighth conference title in the past 10 years. Southeast has two home matches this weekend, facing Morehead State at 7 p.m. Friday and Eastern Kentucky at 2 p.m. Saturday.
