The Central Tigers scored 21 points in the first quarter but were held scoreless for the remainder of the game in a 25-21 home loss to Sikeston on Friday night.
Central scored three of the five touchdowns scored by the two teams in the first quarter, which ended with the Tigers ahead 21-13.
Jacob Boerboom scored on a 28-yard pass from Dennis Vinson, and Jacob Campbell and Dennis Vinson added touchdown runs to give the Tigers a 21-13 advantage.
Central (2-5) had nine first downs in the first quarter but just two the remainder of the game.
Sikeston (7-0) eventually overtook the Tigers on a pair of touchdown runs by junior Chris Word in the second half. The latter came on 3-yard run with 6 minutes, 17 seconds remaining in the game to give Sikeston a 25-21 lead.
Word finished with 190 yards rushing on 30 carries.
Central finished with 198 yards offense, but netted just 50 yards after the first quarter.
The game was delayed for nearly an hour with 8:49 remaining in the fourth quarter due to lightning.
