Southeast Missouri State University's Jeremy Johnson has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for baseball.
Johnson, a senior right fielder, had a huge week at the plate, batting .647 (11-for-17) with two doubles, five home runs, 13 runs scored and 10 runs batted in as the Indians won all five of their games.
In Southeast's three-game weekend sweep of Morehead State, Johnson went 5-for-6 with three homers, eight runs scored and seven RBIs.
Johnson, who also drew eight walks in the five games, has taken over the OVC batting lead with a .423 average.
The Indians, who had a scheduled non-league home doubleheader with Belmont rained out Monday, visit Arkansas State Wednesday for a 3 p.m. non-conference game.
Southeast, which leads the OVC by percentage points, returns to league action at 2 p.m. Saturday when Murray State visits Capaha Field for a doubleheader. The squads will also have a 2 p.m. single game Sunday.
