BRIEFLY: SEMO VOLLEYBALL LOSES AT ARKANSAS STATE

JONESBORO, Ark. -- Arkansas State avenged an earlier loss to Southeast Missouri State University by downing the visiting Otahkians 8-15, 15-13, 16-14, 15-7 Tuesday night.

The Otahkians (19-11) got 19 kills from Krista Haukap, 17 from Lea Beckemeyer and 15 from Jackie Derwort. Kandi Candelarie, playing setter for the third match in place of the injured Amy Henken, had 52 assists.

ASU (21-10) was led by Tera Hayman with 17 kills.

Southeast will return to action Friday night with a 7 o'clock home match against Murray State. The Lady Racers are coached by former Otahkian assistant Dave Schwepker.
