BRIEFLY: SEMO TENNIS TEAM SPLITS AT OVC TOURNEY

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Southeast Missouri State University's women's tennis team split its two matches as the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament got under way here Friday.

The Otahkians lost to Tennessee Tech 4-0 to fall into the consolation bracket, where they beat Morehead State 4-0.

Winners against Morehead were singles players Vicky Wood (6-0, 6-4), Brigitte Stotter (6-4, 6-0) and Michelle Gruber (6-2, 6-1), along with the doubles teams of Izabela Slowikowska-Mel Thomas (8-3) and Wood-Stotter (8-1).

Southeast will play either Eastern Illinois or Eastern Kentucky today in a match to decide fifth place in the OVC tourney.
