Lance McNamara, an athletic trainer at Eastern Illinois University since 1991, has been hired as head trainer at Southeast Missouri State University.

A graduate of Indiana State with a masters from Ohio University, McNamara was also an assistant professor at Eastern Illinois. He had previously served as a graduate assistant trainer at Ohio University from 1989-91 and as an athletic trainer at the Athens Sports Medicine Clinic in Athens, Ga., from 1988-89.

McNamara is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
