In a poll released Tuesday, the Southeast Missouri State baseball team was picked to finish fourth in the OVC preseason poll by the league's head coaches.

The Indians finished the 1999 season with a record of 27-27 and a 15-7, second-place finish in the OVC.

Middle Tennessee was picked to finish first, receiving six first-place votes and 61 points overall. The Blue Raiders return 17 of 24 lettermen and seven of their nine starters that went 29-31 overall and won 15 of their last 20 games.

Eastern Kentucky got 54 points in the poll and one first-place vote and Eastern Illinois got two first-place votes and 52 points.

Southeast garnered 44 points. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams

Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech, Murray State, Morehead State and Tennessee Martin rounded out the preseason voting.
