Notre Dame scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to knock off visiting St. Vincent 5-4 Tuesday in the season opener for both high school softball teams.

In the sixth, Stacey Seyer singled, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and came home on a Traci Kluesner single.

Ramona Blankenship was the winning pitcher. She allowed seven hits and one earned run while striking out two and walking none in seven innings.

Jessica Kirn, St. Vincent's third hurler, took the loss.

Seyer, a freshman, went 3-for-3 to lead Notre Dame's five-hit attack.

Amanda Richardet and Kara Carroll each had two of St. Vincent's seven hits.
