The Kohlfeld Scorpions Rugby Club will begin its 28th season Saturday with its home opener against the Scott Air Force Base Rowdies. The game will begin at 1 p.m. in Arena Park on Hawthorne Road.

Long-time Scorpions coach Tim "Doc" Joplin retired following the fall season. John Creutz, who has played with the Scorpions since 1991, takes over as coach.

"We are trying to build on the success of past seasons and take the team to a new level," Creutz said.

Anyone wishing to join the Scorpions should attend one of the team's practices each Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Arena Park on East Rodney Drive.
