BRIEFLY: JR. LEGION TOURNAMENT

JACKSON -- The six-team Jackson Junior American Legion Memorial Day Tournament was shortened by rain, with Florissant emerging as the champion.

Rain wiped out the scheduled finals round, but Florissant was the lone remaining undefeated squad. Sikeston was awarded second, with Perryville third and Jackson fourth.

In the only game played Sunday before rain hit, Perryville edged Jackson 1-0 behind the three-hit pitching of Tyler Wengert. Jackson's Beau Morrison also allowed just three hits.
