Pre-tourney favorite Jefferson City captured the 1998 American Legion State Tournament played over the weekend in Columbia.
Jefferson City went through the four-team event undefeated and routed Springfield Glendale 14-3 in the championship game.
Ballwin, which had won the Zone Tournament played in Cape Girardeau, was eliminated in two games.
Jefferson City advances to the American Legion Regional Tournament that begins Thursday in Bartlesville, Okla.
