JACKSON, Mo. -- Jackson High School will hold its annual 16-team softball tournament Saturday on several fields at the Jackson City Park.

First-round pairings at 8 a.m. are Cape Central vs. Fox, Notre Dame vs. Lafayette, Perryville vs. St. Louis Notre Dame, Sikeston vs. Cor Jesu and Seckman vs. Vienna, Ill. Opening-round games at 9:45 a.m. feature Jackson vs. St. Clair, Kelly vs. Hannibal and Lutheran South vs. Goreville, Ill.

One quarterfinal will be at 9:45 a.m. with the other three at 11:30 a.m., followed by the semifinals at 1:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. The championship game is set for 6:30 p.m.

Cor Jesu, which finished second in last year's Class 4A state tournament, is the defending champion.

Lutheran South advanced to last year's Class 3A state tournament.
