Fatima junior Will Robertson hit a one-out solo home run in the top the eighth to help the Comets defeat Scott City 3-2 on Tuesday in the Class 3 state championship game.
Fatima took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single in the second and extended the lead to 2-0 with an unearned run in the third.
Scott City tied it in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by Hunter Copeland and RBI single by Drew Short.
The Rams put at least one runner on in each of the final five innings but could never push across another run against Fatima senior Logan Vogel.
Vogel pitched eight innings, allowing two earned runs on nine hits. He struck out five and walked one.
Scott City's freshman starter Dakota Talley gave up two runs -- one earned -- on four hits in four innings.
He was relieved by freshman Bryan McNeely. McNeely allowed one run -- Robertson's homer -- in his four innings.
Scott City, which will return all nine of its starters in the field and eight of the nine batters in its lineup next season, finished the year 21-13.
