ST. LOUIS -- Eight Central players combined for 417 yards and six touchdowns on the ground as the Tigers defeated the Vashon Wolverines 44-34 in the opening week of the high school football season Friday night at Sumner High School's Tuskegee Airmen Field.

The game lasted three hours and 53 minutes, and Al Young led Central with three scores on the ground.

Jalen Reddin added a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown to lead the Tigers in scoring.

Sophomore Tyler Banks capped a 12-play, 80-yard drive with an 11-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that took more than six minutes off the clock to solidify the victory.
