ST. LOUIS -- River Eagle Budweiser men's slow pitch softball team captured the NSA Midwest Regional softball championship held this past weekend in St. Louis.
The title, following Budweiser's NSA Missouri state championship and Jackson League championship, ended the team's season with an 88-14 record.
At the regional, Budweiser drew a first-round bye and then defeated Fred's Sports 12-10. The local squad then squeaked past Hall Inc. of Springfield, Mo., 12-11. Hall Inc. then won the loser's bracket and met Budweiser in the final. Hall Inc. led 17-8 after four innings, but Budweiser scored 12 runs in the fifth, five in the sixth and went on to win the championship by a 25-23 score.
