Delta's girls improved to 10-0 with a 65-50 win over third-seeded Twin Rivers Wednesday night at the Delta New Year's Tournament.

Delta clung to a six-point lead after three quarters before exploding for 24 points in the fourth. Rebecca Below continued to shine, pouring in 32 points for the Bobcats. Below added 13 rebounds.

Rebecca Cook added 14 points for Delta to go along with seven assists. Amanda Lance led Twin Rivers (9-2) with 16 points.

Delta will meet up with top-seeded Dexter at 5 p.m. Saturday to decide the championship game.

Dexter made its way to the championship game with a 59-44 win over fourth-seeded St. Vincent. Katie Dunlap led Dexter with 20 points. Dexter led by six at halftime and used a 19-point third quarter to push its lead to 14 points going into the final quarter.

On the consolation side, Chaffee bounced back from an opening-round loss to Delta to defeat Oran 54-33.

The Red Devils (2-5) were strong defensively, holding Oran to eight points in the first half. On offense, Chaffee featured a balanced attack with three scorers in double figures. Jennifer Vandeven led the way with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Mallory Kiefer added 10 points and Shannon Hampton had 11.

Woodland will face Chaffee in the consolation final, as they moved on with a win over No. 8 Puxico 66-36. Elisha Glastetter led the way for the Cardinals with 18 points. Amanda Abner, Kandice Abner and Sasha Hutson each added 14 for the Cardinals.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Ste. Genevieve Tourney

St. Vincent improved to .500 with a 78-34 win over Ste. Genevieve's junior-varsity team in the opening round of the Ste. Genevieve Tournament.

Joel Carron led the way for St. Vincent with 18 points. Alex Armbruster added 15, and Matt Wengert and Aaron Rellergert had 11 apiece.
