Top-seed Poplar Bluff advanced to the Class 4A, District 1 title game Wednesday with a 63-46 semifinal victory over fourth-seed Farmington at the Tiger Field House.
The Lady Mules, ranked fourth in class 4A behind third-ranked Jackson, improved to 24-2 and will play the Lady Indians for the district crown Friday at 6 p.m. Farmington completed its season at 19-8.
The Knightettes never really threatened Bluff in the contest, trailing 14-5 after one quarter and 31-18 at halftime. Amy Hendricks led the Lady Mules with 13 points. Teammates Sara Lawson and Kelli Opalewski added 12 and 11 points respectively.
Laura Barks led Farmington with a game-high 19 points before fouling out.
