Blues acquire Savage in trade with Coyotes
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues, fighting to earn their 25th straight playoff berth, acquired veteran forward Brian Savage from the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday for future considerations. His best season was 1996-97 with Montreal when he scored 23 goals and had 37 assists. Savage spent the past three seasons with the Coyotes.
The Blues and Coyotes were trading partners for the second time in a week. On Thursday, St. Louis acquired center Mike Sillinger for goalie Brent Johnson.
