CHICAGO -- Pavol Demitra's goal early in the third period lifted the St. Louis into a 2-2 tie with the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night, stretching the Blues' winless streak to four games.

Demitra tied it 5:36 into the third when his centering pass deflected off the stick of Chicago's Alex Zhamnov and past rookie goalie Michael Leighton.

Dallas Drake also scored for the Blues.

St. Louis will face Colorado next week in the opening round of the playoffs. The Blues, in fifth place in the Western Conference, trail the fourth-place Avalanche by two points. St. Louis could gain home-ice advantage in the series if Colorado loses Friday night at Anaheim and the Blues defeat the Avalanche in Sunday's regular-season finale.

Alex Zhamnov and Steve Sullivan each had a goal and assist for the Blackhawks. Chicago is undefeated in its last three games (1-0-2).

St. Louis goalie Chris Osgood, starting his fourth straight game, made 26 saves, including seven in overtime.

An apparent goal by Chicago's Tyler Arnason 9:33 into the third was waved off by referee Eric Furlatt. Although Arnason tucked the puck over the goal line, the net was knocked off its mooring by a player in front.

Osgood stopped Chicago's Eric Daze on a point-blank chance 50 seconds into overtime, and barely got a piece of a shot by Sullivan with 1:56 left in the extra period. He also stopped Arnason from the edge of the crease with 3 seconds left.

Drake opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 10:00 of the first period. He put a one-timer past Leighton from the edge of the crease after taking a pass from Valeri Bure behind the net.

Zhamnov tied it at 1 just 1:15 later. After taking feed from Sullivan off the back boards, Zhamnov beat Osgood on the stick side with a quick wrist shot from the right circle.

Zhamnov set up Sullivan to give Chicago a 2-1 lead 4:46 into the third. After taking Zhamnov's cross ice pass, Sullivan connected from the left circle.
