Tim Billings, the new head football coach at Southeast Missouri State University, has completed his coaching staff for the 2000 season. Tim Billings, the new head football coach at Southeast Missouri State University, has completed his coaching staff for the 2000 season.

The new assistant coaches include Dwayne Nunez, offensive coordinator; Michael Phillips, defensive coordinator; Kip Shaw, offensive backs; Shannon Morrison, defensive backs; and Greg Olejack, offensive line. Rory Segrest, the lone hold-over from the previous coaching staff, will be in his second year at Southeast and coach the defensive line.

Nunez was a graduate assistant receiver coach at Marshall last season after serving previously as an assistant coach at Nicholls State, North Carolina and Southwest Texas State. A graduate of Lamar, Nunez has coached on the staff of two teams that won bowl games. This year's Marshall team on the Motor City Bowl and the 1997 North Carolina team won the Gator Bowl.

Phillips comes to Southeast from Hardin-Simmons University where he served as defensive coordinator from 1991 to 1999. Last year's Hardin-Simmons team won the ASC conference title and advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals.

A 1984 graduate of Angelo State University, Phillips also served as an assistant coach at Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas and Ballinger High School in Ballinger, Texas.

Shaw was a graduate assistant at Marshall the last two seasons. He worked with the defense last season and with the offense in 1998. Previously, Shaw served as head coach in 1996 and 1997 at Notre Dame High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Morrison is a 1995 graduate of Marshall who was defensive coordinator at Hampden-Sydeny College the past two seasons. He also served previously as an assistant at Sam Houston State and as a graduate assistant at Marshall.

Olejack has been offensive line coach at the University of Hawaii the past two seasons after serving as head football coach at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania from 1994 to 1997. He also served previously as an assistant coach at Richmond, Brown, Villanova and Tulane.

Segrest, a member of Alabama's 1992 national championship team, was defensive line coach at Southeast last season after previously serving as a graduate assistant coach at Auburn.
