HAYTI, Mo. - The Hayti Indians' baseball bats erupted early Wednesday, before the Delta C-7 Chargers' bus cooled down from the trip.
The Indians scored eight runs in the first and two more in the second to lead the Chargers 10-0 after two.
Those two innings foreshadowed the final score, 11-1 Hayti after five innings.
The Indians' Tyler Thomas, Noah Nettleton, Aubrey Booker, Tameryn Turner, Jahiem Dunn and JC Ford all reached base and scored a run.
The biggest hit came by Dunn, which drove in three.
Elijah Johnson and Kenneth Gilmore scored two more runs in the second.
Booker and Dunn combined for the first four innings of shutout baseball for Hayti, allowing only five hits and two walks with six strikeouts total.
J'Vonta Payne relieved in the fifth inning and allowed an earned run that extended the game, thwarting the ten-run rule.
The Chargers' shortstop Hayden Ward relieved in the bottom of the fifth and yielded one run to end the game 11-1.
Booker, the starter and winner for Hayti, in his two innings allowed no runs on only two hits, walked none and struck out four.
Dunn pitched two innings, allowed three hits, no runs, walked two and struck out two.
Delta's starter, Hunter Ward, allowed 10 runs (all earned) on six hits, eight walks with six strikeouts, and took the hit for the Chargers.
Delta's Eli Serna was two-for-three at the plate with two hits.
Chavez Thomas stole two bases and assisted on nine made outs by Delta hitters.
Eli Serna assisted on seven made outs by Hayti batters.
Thomas for Hayti assisted on nine made outs by Delta hitters.
Neither team committed errors and Hayti base runners ran wild for 16 stolen bases.
Delta C7, now 2-17, play their next scheduled game at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Bell City.
The Hayti Indians, now 2-8, play at home against Campbell/St. Theresa Jr., at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
