HOUSTON -- Lance Berkman homered twice to tie Sammy Sosa for the major league lead and had five RBIs Sunday as the Houston Astros routed the New York Mets 12-1. Berkman and Sosa both have 13 homers.
Houston starter Roy Oswalt, 0-for-13 this season as a batter coming in, had a career high three RBIs, hitting a three-run single in the fifth inning, a bases-loaded blooper that bounced off the glove of second baseman Joe McEwing into the face of center fielder Jay Payton, then rolled away.
Oswalt (4-1) combined with Nelson Cruz and Brandon Puffer on a four-hitter, while Houston scored the most runs against the Mets this season. The Astros had 15 hits, matching their season high.
Al Leiter (3-2), in the worst of his seven starts this season, gave up five runs -- four earned -- five hits, two walks and a hit batter in four innings. His ERA rose from an NL best 0.92 to 1.67.
Cubs 3, Dodgers 0
LOS ANGELES -- Mark Bellhorn homered and drove in three runs as Chicago won despite losing starting pitcher Matt Clement to an injury after four hitless innings.
Ron Mahay (2-0) relieved Clement and earned his second victory of the three-game series. Antonio Alfonseca, the fifth pitcher in Chicago's four-hit shutout, got four outs for his fifth save in as many opportunities.
Clement couldn't get out of the way of Kevin Brown's fastball in the fifth and sustained a bruised right biceps. He warmed up for the bottom of the fifth, but was removed before facing a batter.
Brown (1-3) lost his second consecutive start since coming off the disabled list, allowing three runs in seven innings.
Phillies 7, Rockies 4
PHILADELPHIA -- Reserves Tomas Perez and Jason Michaels each had three hits as Philadelphia beat Colorado for its first three-game winning streak of the season.
Perez, starting at second base for Marlon Anderson, also drove in three runs. Michaels, playing in right field in place of Bobby Abreu, scored three times.
Vicente Padilla (4-2) was shaky in the first inning, allowing four runs on four hits. But over the next five innings, he blanked the Rockies on three hits.
Jose Mesa pitched the ninth for his ninth save.
Mike Hampton (1-4) gave up six runs on eight hits and three walks in six innings.
Marlins 7, Brewers 4
MILWAUKEE -- Pitcher A.J. Burnett doubled twice for his first two hits of the season and Florida beat Milwaukee.
Charles Johnson hit his first home run of the season and also doubled for the Marlins. Mike Lowell added two hits and two RBIs.
Burnett (5-2) gave up four runs and six hits in seven innings. He won for the fourth time in five starts.
Burnett was 0-for-14 this year before hitting an RBI double in the second inning. It was his first extra-base hit since last May 12, the same day he pitched a no-hitter.
Last season, Burnett was just 4-for-50 at the plate.
Vladimir Nunez pitched the ninth for his fifth save. Nelson Figueroa (1-2) took the loss.
Giants 6, Reds 5
SAN FRANCISCO -- Barry Bonds homered for the second straight day, David Bell hit a tying single in the ninth inning and Benito Santiago singled home the winning run in the 10th as San Francisco finished a three-game sweep.
San Francisco, which has won four in a row, trailed 5-3 before J.T. Snow's RBI single in the eighth off Danny Graves, who had converted nine straight save chances.
Robb Nen (2-0) pitched a perfect 10th.
Luis Pineda (0-3) got the loss.
Bonds homered off Reds starter Chris Reitsma in the sixth for his 10th this season and the 577th of his career.
Diamondbacks 5, Expos 2
PHOENIX -- Luis Gonzalez homered and Junior Spivey drove in three runs as Arizona completed a three-game sweep.
The Expos, swept for the first time this season, lost the last four of their six-game road trip.
Gonzalez homered in the first inning and singled in a run in the eighth as the Diamondbacks won their fourth straight.
Mike Morgan (1-0) worked a scoreless seventh. Byung-Hyun Kim, pitching for the fifth straight day for the first time in his career, struck out all three in the ninth for his eighth save in as many chances.
Javier Vazquez (1-2) allowed just three hits until the seventh.
Padres 6, Pirates 5
SAN DIEGO -- Light-hitting catcher Tom Lampkin drove a two-run triple, and Ryan Klesko and Phil Nevin each had three hits for San Diego.
Klesko also scored a run and drove in another for the Padres, who took two of three in the series and have won eight of 11.
Brian Lawrence (4-1) allowed five runs -- four earned -- on nine hits in 7 1-3 innings. He struck out seven and walked one. Trevor Hoffman got his 11th save in as many opportunities.
Pittsburgh has lost nine of 12. Emergency starter Sean Lowe (1-1) was ripped for six runs and eight hits in 3 1-3 innings. Lowe replaced left-hander Dave Williams, who couldn't go after being hit on the right shin by a comebacker in his last start.
