Imagine a lineup with 6-foot-6 Spencer Goodman, 6-5 Alex King and 6-8 Ryan Willen. Or one with guards Jay Simmons, Jake Leet and Ty Williams.
Those will be among the combinations possible Saturday in the large-school boys basketball all-star game at the B.A. Sports All-Star Extravaganza.
The Bess Activity Center on the campus of Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff will be the site for the four all-star games. A volleyball game and skills contest will take place 7 p.m. tonight and three all-star basketball games are scheduled for Saturday. The girls will play at 10 a.m., the small-school boys will play at 11:15 a.m., and the large-school boys will play at 1:45 p.m. Skills contests will take place between the boys games.
Saturday evening's awards gala, set for 5 p.m. at the Palace of Praise, will feature St. Louis Cardinals hall of famer Lou Brock as the speaker.
The all-star games split up players and coaches in Southeast Missouri. In the large-school boys game, Jackson coach Darrin Scott will have just one of his three all-star seniors, Goodman, who recently committed to North Dakota; along with all-stater Willen from Class 4 state champion Notre Dame and Scott City's King. Anthony Watts and Shane Nolen of Cape Central are other local players on the Red team.
Scott will coach against two other players he has mentored throughout their high school careers — Leet and Hunter Grantham. In addition, the Dark Green team will include Simmons of Scott City, Williams and Mark Himmelberg from Notre Dame, and Jajuan Bell from Central.
Paul Hale of Notre Dame will be among the coaches for the team.

Clarification
The Wednesday edition of the Southeast Missourian listed two players from Perryville named to the Jefferson County Conference large schools first team (Kendra Schilli and Ava Johnson) in addition to Most Valuable Player honors for Schilli. A media outlet contacted in Jefferson County said the complete team had not been made available to it by a member school, which reportedly had misplaced the information.
Perryville had three other players honored and coach Vicki Lohmann was selected the coach of the year for the large-schools division. Alicia Kueker earned second-team honors, while Nicole Gremaud and Alyssa Bauwens were named to the honorable mention list, according to a list of league honors provided by Lohmann.
