Austin Peay won the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season baseball title and earned the top seed for this week's OVC Tournament by rallying past host Tennessee Tech 10-5 in 10 innings Saturday.
The Governors trailed 5-3 entering the ninth inning but they scored twice to force extra innings, then exploded with a five-run 10th.
Austin Peay took two of three games from the Eagles in the series and ended OVC play with a 14-5-1 record to finish just ahead of 14-6 Southeast Missouri State University. Tennessee Tech wound up third at 13-6.
Murray State was fourth at 9-11, with Eastern Kentucky (8-11) and Eastern Illinois (8-12) rounding out the field for the six-team conference tournament that will be played Wednesday through Saturday in Paducah, Ky. Tennessee-Martin (6-13-1) and Morehead State (6-14) did not qualify for the tournament.
Wednesday's first-round pairings in the double-elimination event at Brooks Stadium feature No. 2 seed Southeast (30-18) vs. No. 5 Eastern Kentucky (21-27) at 11 a.m., No. 1 Austin Peay (27-25-1) vs. No. 6 Eastern Illinois (24-29) at 3 p.m. and No. 3 Tennessee Tech (27-23) vs. No. 4 Murray State (20-28) at 7 p.m.
There also will be games at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. both Thursday and Friday, with the championship game set for 1 p.m. Saturday. A second title contest, if needed, would follow.
