BASEBALL

South Iron 9, Neelyville 2

The Neelyville Tigers fell to South Iron 9-2 Thursday.

South Iron went up 6-0 after three as the Tigers added runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings but it wasn’t enough for the comeback.

Zak Cowley had two hits for Neelyville.

SOFTBALL

Poplar Bluff 18, Sikeston 6

The Poplar Bluff Lady Mules grabbed their second win in as many days when they cruised by Sikeston, 18-6.

Addison Valenzuela (3-4, 3 runs, RBI), Ashtyn Reese (1-4, 2 RBIs), Kennedy Zgaynor (3-4, 3 runs, RBI), Molly Eason (2-5, 3 RBIs, 2 runs), Maggie King (1-4, run), Tylar Brookreson (3-5, 4 RBIs, 2 runs), Kyleigh Edmundson (1-4, run), Heaven Werkister (2 runs, RBI) and Elizabeth Blancett (3-4, 4 RBIs, 2 runs) had big days at the plate as every Lady Mule scored in the victory.

Valenzuela struck out six to earn the win in the circle.

Notre Dame Softballfest

Kelly 18, Neelyville 4

The Neelyville Lady Tigers fell 18-4 to Kelly at Notre Dame’s Softballfest. Reese Dobbins had two hits and three RBIs for Lady Tigers.

Neelyville battled Notre Dame in the night cap.

Kelly 10, Doniphan 8

Notre Dame 4, Doniphan 1

The Doniphan Donettes dropped a pair Thursday at Notre Dame.

Doniphan fell to Kelly (10-8) then the host Bulldogs (4-1).
