Week Report: Lowrance became the first of his teammates to post a state-qualifying time by dropping 2.1 seconds in less that a week in the 100 breast stroke at the Springfield Invitational. His time of 1:06.04 beat the state cut by .01 seconds. He also cut two seconds off his personal best in the 200 individual medley, finishing in 2:22.

Season Report: Lowrance competes in four events, the 100 breast stroke, the 200 IM, the 400 freestyle relay and swims the breast stroke in the medley relay.

Coach's Comments: "It's not like we've taken it for granted in the past, but state cuts have been harder to come by this year," said Powell. "This was the first this year and it was a good motivating factor for the whole team. He would swim anything I would want him to without questions or doubts. He swam mostly the 50 free last year but we needed him to swim the 200 IM because we have so few (swimmers) this year. He would swim anything I would want him to without questions or doubts. You really like to have athletes like that. He encourages everybody but he's quiet. He just does the workout and tries to make everybody comfortable. It kind of gets contagious. He's helped us more this year than just his swimming events."
