Amanda Hiler
School: Cape Central
Sport: Soccer
Coach: Tom Doyle
Week Report: Hiler, a junior forward, scored three goals in the Lady Tigers' 3-2 win over a tough St. Charles West team. St. Charles -- which went 27-2 last season -- had allowed just one goal in the first three games. Hiler also had one goal in the Lady Tigers' 3-2 win over Fort Zumwalt South in the season opener and another in Central's 4-0 victory over Fort Zumwalt South, giving her five goals in just three games.
Coach's comments: "Last year she played well and scored 12 goals but she's well on her way to pass that," Doyle said. "She's worked hard to get the goals that she's got. She just loves the game of soccer. It's the only sport she plays at Central. She plays on a team in St. Louis during the fall. She had some knee surgury which slowed her down a bit, but she makes real good decisions. She anticipates and that helps her a lot."
