OAKLAND, Calif. -- Jason Giambi hit a two-run homer and Cory Lidle pitched a five-hitter as the Oakland Athletics won their 15th straight home game, 6-2 over the Anaheim Angels on Thursday.

Lidle (12-6) got the first complete game of his career as Oakland completed its fourth undefeated homestand of six games or longer this year.

Prior to this remarkable season, the A's had just two such perfect homestands since moving to Oakland.

The A's outscored Seattle and Anaheim 41-13 over the six games while improving to 51-15 since the All-Star break. The victory was the 22nd in 24 games for the AL wild card winners.

WHITE SOX 9, TWINS 3

CHICAGO -- Carlos Lee hit a two-run homer and Paul Konerko drove in two runs to lead Chicago over Minnesota.

Magglio Ordonez and rookie Joe Crede each had two hits and two RBIs for the White Sox in their final home game of the season.

The win put the White Sox in a tie with the Twins at 80-73 for second in the AL Central after trailing them by 15 1/2 games in May. The loss by the Twins dropped Cleveland's magic number to three in the division.

ORIOLES 4, RED SOX 2

BOSTON -- Rookie Sean Douglass (2-1) won his second straight start, giving up two runs and three hits in 5 1-3 innings. Willis Roberts got his sixth save, dropping Boston one game above .500 at 76-75. The Red Sox have lost 19 of their last 24.

DEVIL RAYS 5, BLUE JAYS 1

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Toby Hall hit a go-ahead double in the eighth and Jared Sandberg followed with a thee-run double off Scott Eyre (0-2).

Toronto's Carlos Delgado reached 100 RBIs for the fourth consecutive season with a solo homer.
