Giebler, Myers win Dalhousie club titles

Brevin Giebler overcame a six-shot deficit in the final round to win the Dalhousie Golf Club's men's club championship tournament recently.

Giebler shot a final-round, 3-under-par 69 to overtake second-round leader Bryan Johnson, who shot a final-round 77. Giebler had a 147 total through the first two days after rounds of 75 and 72, while Johnson opened with a 67 and added 74 for a 141. Giebler finished at 216, two strokes ahead of Johnson.

Ben Cantrell placed third at 224 with rounds of 76, 77 and 71.

Bill Bishop won A flight with a birdie on the first hole of a playoff with Forrest Kidd. Dean Short topped B flight, while Gary Seymour won C flight.

In the women's championship, Harriette Myers successfully defended her title with rounds of 77 and 81 for a 158 total.

Terry Parmly won B flight, while Robin Davis captured C flight.

Goldens, Balance claim Autumn Open scramble

Gene Golden, Joe Golden, Andy Golden and Mark Balance carded a 56 to win the 2006 Autumn Open on Saturday at Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course.
