Menz scored 153 points in the event. Kanin Asay of Powell, Wyo., and Jared Green of Socorro, N.M., tied for first with 164 points.

Texas finished first in the boys team championship with 4,420 points, followed by Nebraska and Florida. Missouri finished 25th with 1,135 points. Texas placed first in the girls competition with 3,775 points, followed by Utah and Wyoming.

The SEMO Magic dropped their first game in pool play Sunday at the NSA 16-and-Under Class B World Series in Peoria, Ill.

The Illinois Thunder Black scored the game's lone run in the top of the seventh inning for a 1-0 victory. Thunder Black managed just three hits in the game off losing pitcher Beth Schnurbusch, who walked two and struck out two.

SEMO Magic had six hits, including two apiece from Miranda Schlosser and Alana Weissmueller.

SEMO Magic concludes pool play at noon today against the Ohio Heat. Double elimination play begins Tuesday.
