Ken Schmitz used a 5-iron to card a hole in one on hole No. 11 at Dalhousie Golf Club.
The hole was playing 175 yards.
John Morlan and Mike Bennett witnessed the shot.
Richardet captures first place
Zach Richardet shot a 76 to take first place in the 16 to 19 18-hole tour division at the Gateway PGA Junior Series event at Dalhousie Golf Club on Thursday.
Jack Connell Jr. was second (77) and Dakota Trevino third (78).
In the 14 to 15 tour division, Eric Hayes and Tanner Weaver tied with 83s. Tanner McKinny was third with an 89.
Emily Matthews won the girls 16 to 19 18-hole division with a 96.
In the boys 16 to 19 18-hole division, Joe Wiggins took first with an 82, followed by Brett Martindale (87) and Blake Goforth (90).
In the boys 14 to 15 18-hole division, Brandon Pleimann was first with a 78, followed by Trent Weaver (81) and Blake Walker (85).
In the boys 12 to 13 boys 18-hole division, Carr Vernon was first (83), followed by Jesse Hency (84) and Corey Connell (93).
In the boys 14 to 18 nine-hole division, Luke Mueller shot a 53, followed by Tanner Deiro (58) and Grant Gray (59).
In the boys 12 to 13 nine-hole division, Gunnar Knudtson took first with a 48, followed by Hayden Combs (50) and Ben Murray (53).
In the boys 10 to 11 nine-hole division, Garrett Callahan was first with a 48, followed by Jack Litzelfelner (50) and Gabe Wheeler (54).
Underwood, Wagner team for first place
Dana Underwood and Marcia Wagner took first place at the Women's Golf Association's two-person scramble at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Vickie McKinney and Irene Thomas took second, followed by Debbie Mealy and Shirley Moore.
The team of Joyce Kuntze and Ernie Kidd took first at the twilight scramble.
Cape Legion routsMayfield in tourney
The Ford & Sons Cape Girardeau American Legion baseball team defeated Mayfield (Ky.) 15-3 in five innings Thursday night in its first round-robin game in the Paducah Tournament.
Matt Hester and Blake Slattery each hit home runs in the rout. Slattery's solo blast came in a five-run first, while Hester connected for a two-run shot in a seven-run second. Each player went 2-for-3, and Alex Shell was 2-for-4 in Cape's 12-hit attack.
Garrett Stephens pitched all five innings for the win. He allowed four hits, struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Cape (16-6) continues round-robin play today when it faces Columbia (Tenn.) at 5 p.m.
