Disco Lemonade, Volleyball Junkies prevail

Disco Lemonade captured first in Division A, while Volleyball Junkies won Division B in the 7th annual Osage Invitational Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament Sunday at the Osage Community Centre.

Disco Lemonade defeated Purple Crackle in the Division A championship game to win the eight-team flight. Show Me placed third.

Volleyball Junkies stopped Slackers in the title game of Division B, which consisted of 13 teams. Cruisers finished third.

Branum victorious at Jammin' Juniors

Blake Branum defeated P.D. Stuart in the Boys 18 singles final Sunday at the Saint Francis Universal Health and Fitness Jammin' Juniors tournament.

Branum won the match 6-2, 6-0. Will LaFoe stopped Josh Hubbard 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 in the Boys 16 singles. The Boys 18 doubles winners were Branum and Lee Hess, who won by default over Stuart and Adam Baron.

In the girls competition, Jenni Dewitt swept Kara True 6-1, 6-2 to win the Girls 18 singles title. Elizabeth Knight was victorious in the Girls 14 singles, defeating Maura Neader 5-7, 6-4, 7-6. In doubles, Dewitt and True triumphed with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Neader and Brittney Hiett.
