BasketballJackson camps: The Jackson Indian basketball camps will offer multiple sessions June 21-25. Individual camps for grades 3-4 (9-11 a.m.), 5-6 (noon-2 p.m.) and 7-8 (2-4 p.m.) all will take place at the multipurpose gym. A pee-wee camp for grades 1-2 will be 10 a.m.-noon June 28-July 2 at South Elementary, and a shooting camp for grades 4-7 will be 9 a.m.-noon July 19-23 at the multipurpose gym. Central summer camps: Central High School will offer three camps: team camps, June 7-9 and July 26-29, with 6-8 p.m. sessions at the high school for athletes entering grades 9-12 who plan to play football ($10 fee for each); June 28-July 1 Tiger Football School, 9-11 a.m. sessions at the junior high for athletes in grades 5-8 ($15 fee). Women's scramble: The Southeast Missouri State volleyball program will host a women's four-person scramble June 12 at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m., followed by lunch. Entry fee is $60 per person or $240 per team and the deadline is Tuesday. Info and registration form available at www.gosoutheast.com in the volleyball section.Triple Crown scramble: The Cape Girardeau Country Club will host the first Triple Crown three-person scramble June 5-6. The event includes an optional practice round June 4 and 36 holes of tournament golf with shotgun starts 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Lunch and post-tournament pool party on June 5. Running

Trail run and walk: The Chaffee Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the ninth annual Tywappity Trails 5-kilometer trail run and fitness walk on June 5. The event begins at 9 a.m. All participants receive T-shirts; awards are given to top three male and female finishers in each of seven age groups. Race staged by Cape Girardeau Road Runners Club with proceeds benefitting the chamber's scholarship fund. Info: H.B. Rice, 887-3555.

Historic Hanover Ascension Run: Saturday marks the 13th annual Historic Hanover Ascension Run, beginning and ending at Hanover Lutheran Church, 2949 Perryville Road in Cape Girardeau. A one-mile run begins at 6:45 p.m. and a five-mile run is planned for 7:10 p.m. Awards for top finishers and t-shirts for all participants. Race-day registration is $11 for one race and $16 for both. Softball

Summer camp: The Central High School softball camps will be Monday-June 4 (skills camp) and June 4-5 (pitching camp). Camps are open to students entering grades 4-12. The fees are $30 for the skills camp and $25 for the pitching camp. Info: 335-8467.

TennisCATA programs: The Cape Area Tennis Association will offer a number of events this summer: A challenge ladder for male and female players 15 and over with singles and doubles play beginning Tuesday ($10 fee; registration forms at Universal Health and Fitness); a junior tennis league for boys and girls 10-14 beginning Tuesday (no cost); a Saturday morning social doubles play beginning 9 a.m. June 5 at Central High School ($1 playing fee); the Universal Health and Fitness Summer Camps for ages 6-14, sessions begin June 21 and July 5. Wrestling

Central wresting camp: The Cape Central Tiger wrestling little league camp will be June 8-10 and is open to those entering grades 1-7. Sessions will be 5:30-8 p.m. each day at Central High School.
