Super Kids Race Day: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department and co-sponsors A Small World Preschool and Burger King will present the Super Kids Race Day event on Feb. 27 at the Southeast Missouri State University Student Recreation Center. The event begins at 12:45 p.m. and is open to area youths from crawlers to 15-and-under. The entry fee is $6.70 for those who register by Feb. 25 and $10.10 on the day of the race. Soccer
CAYSA registration: The Cape Area Youth Soccer Association will have its spring signups noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and Jan. 23 at Nearly Perfect Shoes in Cape Girardeau. The fee is $28, and the league is open to boys and girls in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
JAOSA registration: The Jackson Area Optimists Soccer Association will have a registration session 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 5 at Main Street Fitness in Jackson and another 5:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 8 at Nearly Perfect Shoes in Jackson. The fee is $35, and the league is open to those in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
Softball
Southeast winter clinics: Southeast Missouri State University will offer its annual winter softball clinics in Houck Field House for girls ages 8 through 18. The three sessions are: Pitching/Hitting, 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday; Pitching/Catching/Hitting, 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 5 and Feb. 6; Pitching/Hitting/Defense, 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 12 and 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 13. Volleyball
Coed tournament: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department's eighth annual Osage Invitational Coed Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 13. The event is a 6-on-6 format with three men and three women on the court at all times. Pool play will be followed by a single-elimination bracket for the top two teams from each pool. Entry fee is $52.50 per team by noon on the registration deadline, Feb. 10. Fundamentals class: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will team up with the Southeast Missouri State University women's volleyball team for the Fundamentals of Volleyball Class 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 29 at the Osage Community Centre. The class is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 12. Cost is $10.50 per person. Registration deadline 5 p.m. Jan. 24.
Wrestling
Tiger Classic: The Cape USA Tiger Classic youth wrestling tournament is scheduled for Feb. 27 at Central High School. Divisions will be open to wrestlers 6 and under, 8 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, and 14 and under with various weight classes in each division. The entry fee is $12 and the deadline is Feb. 22. All wrestlers must have a current USA wrestling card. League registration: The annual Jackson Optimist Wrestling Little League has scheduled registration for 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3 in the multipurpose gym at Jackson High School. The league is open to boys in kindergarten through sixth grade. The entry fee is $30. The league session will be Feb. 21 through April 2 with two tournaments to conclude the season.
