ARNOLD, Mo. -- Jackson had three individual champions and placed third Saturday in its pool of the 10-team tournament.

Belton won the pool Jackson was in with 220 points. Then came Fox (192), Jackson (157), Belleville East, Ill. (81) and Hazelwood East (36).

In the other pool, Cape Girardeau Central was third. Northwest won with 213, followed by Wentzville (204), Seckman (147), Cape Central (92) and Mehlville (51).

The individual winners from each pool squared off in the finals. Jackson champions were Brock Howard (112 pounds), Ricky Feiner (140) and Luke Wade (heavyweight).

Matt Kahle (189) was second while Paul Feiner (103), Cody Rouse (135), Justin Rice (152), Lance Berry (160), Cameron Lacy (171) and Curtis Ackman (215) all placed fifth.

For Cape Central, Shannon Mungle (215) placed third, Trever Duncan (160) was fourth and Dustin Ingram (125) and Jonathon Poston (119) were both fifth.

Also Saturday, Jackson's junior varsity was second out of 10 teams at the Rockwood Summit Tournament. Fox won with 440 points and the Indians had 406.

Jackson champions were Cory Ruch (119), Jordan Barnhart (130), Blake Ulrich (160) and Dustin Fluegge (215).

Austin Bock (135), Shawn Hinkebein (140), Garrett Huck (152) and Andy Glass (189) all finished second; Matt Jackson (145) was third; Michael Sladek (125) and Jeremy Rollet (171) were fourth; and Robert Trowbridge (103) and Jerid Jones (heavyweight) placed fifth.

NOTRE DAME SIXTH

ST. LOUIS -- Notre Dame took sixth place out of 10 teams Saturday night in the University City Relays.

Notre Dame's 900-yard relay team of Stephen Hine, John Fisher and Josh Lester took second place with a time of 10:50.57.

Hine and Fisher swam 200-yard legs, while Lester swam 500.

Cape Central's eighth-grade squad improved to 3-1 Saturday as Garrett Ozbun scored 15 points.
