A second round 80 pushed Central junior Blake Driskell out of medal contention as the Class 4 state golf championship concluded Tuesday at the Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar.
Driskell was tied for 14th heading into the final round after shooting a 3-over-par 75 on Monday. The top 15 medal, but Driskell finished tied for 27th. Central teammate Kirk Lohmann shot an 85 on Tuesday to finish tied for 79th with a 165.
In the team standings, Poplar Bluff finished second, two strokes behind champion Rockhurst. Mules sophomore Tyler Hillis, who was tied for first with an opening round 68, shot a 76 on Tuesday and finished tied for fifth.
Notre Dame's Will Lindman and Jon Blattel each made slight improvements on day two at the Class 3 championship at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield. Lindman shot an 88 on Tuesday for a 178, and Blattel shot an 89 for a 180.
St. Vincent's four golfers finished seventh in the team standings at the Class 1 championship at Island Green Golf Course in Republic. The Indians finished with a 713. Tipton won the state title with a 655.
Corey Brueckner shot an 83 on Tuesday to finish tied for 29th with a 167. Zach Richardet finished tied for 59th after shooting a 94. Jacob DeWilde shot an 88 to tie for 67th, and Danny Rellergert was right behind with a 91 and a tie for 71st.
