Coad records ace at Dalhousie Golf Club

Tim Coad made his second career hole in one -- and his second in two months -- at Dalhousie Golf Club on Thursday.

Coad used a 7-iron to ace the 160-yard, par-3 11th hole.

Witnesses were Forrest Kidd, Adam Kidd and Brevin Giebler.

Coad had aced Dalhousie's fifth hole on Sept. 10.

Friedheim loses but still leads league

Friedheim dropped two games to Apple Creek in the Cape-Perry Lutheran Laymen's League for Dartball on Tuesday night.

Friedheim lost 4-1 and 7-5 before salvaging a 6-5 win in the final game of the three-game set that mirrors a baseball tripleheader. In dartball, players throw darts at a baseball field board to record hits or outs.

Trinity and Apple Creek are tied for second, one game behind.

First Fund Run set for Saturday

Southeast Missouri State University's Sports Management Department will have its inaugural Fund Run, a five-kilometer race, on Saturday at Cape County Park South.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and includes a one-mile fun run for ages 14 and under as well as a free-throw contest, a Wiffleball home run derby, an obstacle course and an appearance by Rowdy, Southeast's mascot.

The entry for the 5K race is $20. Money will be used to start a scholarship fund for sports management majors.
