Drusch medalist in Kimbeland women's play
Harriet Drusch captured medalist honors Thursday in the Ladies Golf League at Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson.
Vicki Long won the championship flight in the play of the day, while Lillian Schneider topped the A flight and Dorothy Holland was first in the B flight.
The team of Edna Ruth Fischer, Marcia Wagner and Robyn Young placed first in the Cape Girardeau Country Club Ladies Day Wednesday Evening Scramble.
Wagner also was closest to the pin on No. 8, while Joyce Kuntze had the longest putt on No. 9.
* On Thursday's action for the Cape Country Club ladies, Kathy Morris was the medalist.
Judi Brey was first in the play of the day, which was most 4s and 5s. Kathy Morris and Betty Michel tied for second, while Luanne Kiefner and Mary Ellen Bean tied for fourth.
Heartland Gymnastics had seven all-around champions on April 29 in the AAU championships meet at Sikeston Gymnastics.
In addition, the Level 5 and Level 2 teams captured first place in their respective standings. The Level 3 team was second, and the Level 4 team placed third.
Pacing Level 5 were all-around champions Alyssa Garner and Cassie Hindman.
Kanaan Rhodes was an all-around champion in Level 4. Allie Below earned the honor in Level 3.
The Level 2 team had three all-around champions: Brylee Morse, Sophia Wojdylo and Jacey Harris.

The Jackson United under-10 boys soccer team placed first in the Kentucky Lake Invitational, which took place May 6 and 7.
The team was pictured in Thursday's edition following its victory at the M.C. United Spring Classic tournament in April.
Members of the team: Duncan McKinley, Adam Batz, Jordan Hadden, Clay Darnell, Collin Kramer, Hunter Coe, Calvin Lysell, Joshua Daume, Braden Wendel, Matt Gibson, Lane Mueller, Kelby Brown, Dalton Welch and Karson King.
The coaches are Kevin Coe and Greg Gibson, and the trainer is Jack Knowlan.
The 17th annual Youth Catch and Release Fishing Day will take place June 3 at the Capaha Park pond.
The event, sponsored by the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department along with the Cape Jaycees and Missouri Conservation Department, will start at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m.
Children ages 1 to 15 are invited to bring their own pole and bait. Prizes will be given for the biggest and smallest fish and for a casting contest. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

A duathlon for adults and youths slated for June 24 will raise funds for a scholarship in honor of Adam McGee.
The event will include a 3-mile run, 14-mile bike ride and 3-mile run for adults as well as a competition for athletes ages 7 to 18 that covers half of those distances in the same order.
The race will be 9 a.m. at the Charleston Baptist Association campgrounds in Benton, Mo. The fee is $35 for adults and $20 for youths. Registration forms are available at Cyclewerx in Cape Girardeau.
McGee was active in sports and was an honor student at Kelly Elementary when he died at the age of 11.
The Adam McGee Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to assist a high school graduate in attending college.
