Thomas repeats as senior club champion

Tommy Thomas shot a two-day total of 148 to repeat as the senior men's club champion at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Thomas had rounds of 71 and 77 to finish 10 strokes ahead of Ken Swinford (80-78). Greg Howard (79-82) was third at 161.

Rains, Cook team for victory

Jason Rains and Lachelle Cook teamed to win the SEMO Horseshoe Association's event at the Leopold Knights of Columbus.

Lester Powell and Lindi Rains placed second, while Joe Keller and Diane Menz were third in the seven-team tournament.

The team of Brian Beussink and Cori Stoverink won the tournament at the Jackson Knights of Columbus.

Powell and Terrie Rose took second, while Mike Massa and Cook were third in the 15-team tournament.

The next tournament, the tournament of champions, is scheduled for Sunday at the Oran Jaycees.

Hager cards ace at Kimbeland C.C.

Phil Hager of Jackson fired his first hole-in-one Thursday at Kimbeland Country Club.

Hager used a 9-iron to ace No. 12, a par 3 playing 150 yards. Witnesses were Bob Kinder and Shelia Hager.
