Ware wins state title

Richard Ware of Cape Girardeau took first place in the 100-meter dash at the state Hershey's Track and Field Games in Jefferson City, Mo.

The 9-year old advanced through the local and district meets to reach the state meet, which was held at Jefferson City High School.

Kantchev edges Brewer for title

Diana Kantchev shot a 51 to beat Camille Brewer by a stroke in the girls 12- and 13-year-olds division at Wednesday's PGA Gateway Junior Series tournament at Westwood Hills Country Club.
