Southeast's Scott qualifies for nationals

Southeast Missouri State University senior Shelton Scott has qualified in the long jump and triple jump for the NCAA Track and Field Championships June 11 to 14 in Sacramento, Calif.

Scott was selected as an at-large entry based on his seasonal performances of 25-6 1/2 in the long jump and 52-2 in the triple jump.

Guy to hold kicking clinic at car dealership

Former NFL All-Pro punter Ray Guy will host a free kicking clinic Monday for ages 12 and under at Ford Groves at 1501 N. Kingshighway.

The program will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Guy also will sign autographs.

May, Angle medalists in Chip-A-Ways event

Glen May and Lil Angle finished in a tie for medalist honors in the Cape Girardeau Chip-A-Ways golf event this week.

Jan Keefe won in flight B. Jean Graham won the play of the day competition, and Waunita Van Dyke won for low putts.
