Southeast begins annual booster drive this week
Southeast Missouri State University's annual booster club membership drive officially kicks off Thursday with Blitz Day.
According to Southeast athletic director Don Kaverman, several fundraising teams will contact current boosters to seek renewals and potential upgrades to their membership levels. The teams will seek referrals for potential new members.
Kaverman said the booster club had almost 900 members in the past school year, with 10 levels ranging from starter ($100 minimum contribution) to tribal council ($10,000). Those members contributed about $300,000 in cash and about $300,000 in goods and services. The donations help pay for scholarships and general operations.
Booster club members receive benefits for game events and outings depending on contribution levels. Kaverman said most of the contributions are tax-deductible.
