Gabby Vieira broke the Gators swim team's record in the girls 13 and 14 100-meter backstroke and 400 individual medley in helping her earn the high-point winner at the USA Swimming Elizabethtown Summer Classic meet. Vieira sets team records in victory

Gabby Vieira broke the Gators swim team's record in the girls 13 and 14 100-meter backstroke and 400 individual medley in helping her earn the high-point winner at the USA Swimming Elizabethtown Summer Classic meet.

Vieira swam the 100 backstroke in 1 minute, 9.83 seconds, good enough for second place, and the 400 individual medley in 5:21.97. She won the 100 butterfly, 1,500 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 400 freestyle, 400 individual medley and 50 freestyle.

Phoebe Law won the 100 butterfly in the girls 9 and 10 division. Law finished third in the division's standings.

Jacob Bening (100 backstroke) and Stephen Sugarbaker (1,500 freestyle, 800 freestyle) grabbed second-place finishes for the Gators.

Austin Hobbs won four events at the Farmington meet, part of the summer league. Hobbs touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 50 freestyle.

Other Gators winners at the Farmington meet were: Payton Beck (100 backstroke), Paige Beussink (100 individual medley, 25 backstroke, 25 breaststroke), Zach Brazel (25 breaststroke), Emily Bruns (25 butterfly), William Dodson (25 freestyle), Ethan Groves (25 backstroke), Ella Hahs (25 freestyle, 50 freestyle), Cameron Mejean (50 freestyle), Noah Mejean (100 individual medley, 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly), Molly Phegley (100 freestyle, 100 individual medley, 50 freestyle) and Josey Powell (50 freestyle).

Second-place finishers for the Gators were: Vanessa Bangert (50 backstroke), Drew Beussink (50 butterfly), Cami Brazel (50 backstroke), Jasmine Brown (25 butterfly, 50 freestyle), Bailee Lathum (50 butterfly), Peyton Livingston (25 freestyle), Megan Maxton (25 backstroke) and Allison McDonald (50 breaststroke).

Third-place finishers for the Gators were: Bailey Beussink (50 breaststroke), Jack Maxton (25 freestyle, 50 freestyle), Bailey Mayfield (50 butterfly), Madeleine McDonald (100 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 individual medley) and Auggie Phegley (25 breaststroke).

Kinder team wins golf tournament

The team of John Kinder, Tim Edwards, Mark Hahn and Mike Young shot a 56 to win the Young Life golf tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The team of Brad Brune, Charles Evans, Brent Holmes and Jeff Brune shot a 57 to finish second.
