DaVault, Schwartz team for win

Mike DaVault and Yvonne Schwartz joined forces to win the SEMO Horseshoe Association's 12-team tournament at the Leopold Knights of Columbus.

The team of Edgar Stoverink and Kelcee DaVault finished second, while Joe Schwartz and Cori Stoverink were third.

The next tournament is scheduled for Saturday at the Scott City Knights of Columbus.

Judi Brey finished in first place and won medalist honors at the Cape Girardeau Country Club's Women's Golf Association's weekly outing.

Linda Tewis and Janet White tied for second place, while Irene Thomas and Mary Ellen Bean tied for third.

Litzelfelner III wins golf tournament

Jackson's Jack Litzelfelner III won the United States Junior Golf Tour's tournament at Paxton Park in Paducah, Ky.

Litzelfelner III shot 72-76--148 to win the boys junior high division by five strokes.

Cox team wins flight title

The team of Brian Cox, Scott Avis, Brandon Stone and Trey Cain shot a 56 to win the championship flight at the Beacon Health Center's fundraiser tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The team of Ronnie Clark, Nate Crowden, Mark Winder and Kenny Gaebler was second with a 57.

The team of Brock Alspaugh, Jason Lee, Christopher Snider and Matt Pruitt shot a 66 to win A flight, while Kyle Thompson, Larry Hall, Ray Silliman and Tom Cramer finished second.
